HARRISON, N.J. (February 15, 2023) – The New York Red Bulls released their new 2023 kit today, which was collaborated on with luxury sportswear designer Daniel Patrick. This marks the first time an MLS club has worked with a fashion designer on their new kit.
“It was great working with the New York Red Bulls on this kit and putting a streetwear style on it, where people can not only wear this on the soccer pitch, but everywhere else as well,” said Daniel Patrick. “I was really excited to be a part of this project, to have your name on a professional team’s jersey that they will wear on the soccer pitches across the United States, it is amazing.”
RBNY x Daniel Patrick Kit Collab
Add this 2023 Daniel Patrick Kit Primary Authentic Jersey to your New York Red Bulls collection. This jersey is part of a unique collaboration with luxury sportswear designer Daniel Patrick which pays homage to New York City's rich streetwear culture.
Patrick, a Sydney, Australia native, is a luxury sportswear designer that launched his first line in 2012. Based in Los Angeles, California, Patrick has collaborated with many different brands and professional athletes including Philadelphia 76ers point guard James Harden and Miami Heat shooting guard Jimmy Butler.
The collaboration on the jersey was looking to take the New York Red Bulls kit off the pitch and on to the streets. Patrick utilized his iconic tie-dye process on the kit and added a motion aspect to it. The kit is inspired by many kits around the world and Patrick really wanted to change up the color palette then what you would see from an MLS club.
“This has been an exciting project to work on, especially with someone I view as one of my idols,” said New York Red Bulls Art Director Kevin Maulbeck. ‘Many years ago, I use to skate past Daniel Patrick’s store in SoHo and when I got the chance to work with him, it was a dream come true and it has been an amazing process to create this kit.”
The New York Red Bulls will open their 2023 season on Saturday, February 25 against Orlando City SC at Exploria Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET, with coverage on Apple TV MLS Season Pass and New York Red Bulls Radio in English via TuneIn.
