Sacha Kljestan is MLS' Assist King once more.
For the second consecutive season, Kljestan finished with the most helpers in the league. With 17 assists in 32 games, he has now tallied 51 over 97 regular season games since joining the New York Red Bulls in 2015.
Kljestan tallied 20 assists in 2016, the most in the league that year, and only trails Carlos Valderama for most assists over a three-year span in MLS (53, 1998-2000).
The Red Bulls midfielder is the first player to lead the league in assists in consecutive seasons, according to Matthew Doyle.
Kljestan out-helped Victor Vazquez of Toronto FC (16) and Lee Nguyen of the New England Revolution (15) this season.
The captain and his teammates begin the Audi 2017 MLS Cup Playoffs on Wednesday, October 26, at 8:30 p.m. ET against the Chicago Fire at Toyota Park.
