Thirty-three matches and the top two teams are separated by just one point.
The battle for the 2018 Supporters' Shield between Atlanta United FC and the New York Red Bulls will be decided on the final day of the regular season, Decision Day, presented by AT&T.
- TICKETS: Red Bulls vs. Orlando | 4:30 PM
"When you start the year, you hope to be in this spot, where you’ve put together 21 wins, it’s been a great run that the guys are on," Head Coach Chris Armas said.
Atlanta has the advantage heading into the simultaneous 4:30 p.m. kickoffs on Sunday, leading the Shield race by one point. Among the outcomes favorable to the Red Bulls, the easiest path to claiming the Shield is having Atlanta lose to Toronto FC north of the border and to take care of business at home against Orlando City SC.
Things get more complicated if Atlanta loses and the Red Bulls draw against Orlando, as New York would need a two-goal loss from Atlanta to claim the Shield on goal differential, the first relevant tiebreaker in determining the Supporters' Shield.
"To be at home, to face a tough opponent in Orlando as they showed with a victory, we’ll prepare ourselves the best way," Armas said. "In front of the supporters, with a chance at that trophy, is all we can ask for. We are really excited for that chance, knowing that Atlanta has to win at Toronto, where it’s hard to play, and Toronto will give them everything.
"If they slip up a little bit, hopefully we can take care of business," the head coach said.
