The Westchester Youth Soccer League (WYSL) and New York Red Bulls are pleased to announce the try out dates for the 2016-17 WYSL-Red Bulls Select Program. Following up on a successful first year, the partnership will expand to four age groups – birth years 2005, ‘06, ‘07 & ‘08. The Partnership program strives to offer elite training for Westchester Youth Soccer League players with once-a-week supplementary training from certified Red Bulls coaches.
- The program is for boys and girls of birth years 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 only.
- The players must be registered with a Westchester Youth Soccer League (WYSL) member club to participate in this program.
- Two rounds of tryouts will be held in September:
- Try Out 1:
- September 12th, 2016
- 5:30pm – 7:00pm = 2007 & 2008 Boys and Girls
- 7:00pm – 8:30pm = 2005 & 2006 Boys and Girls
- Try Out 2 – Call backs:
- September 19th, 2016
- These try outs will be for players called back from the first try out only. Players wanting to be part of the program must attend the first try out to be eligible for the final try out on September 19th.
- Try Out 1:
- All try outs are conducted at Saxon Woods, 1800 Mamaroneck Ave, White Plains, NY 10605
- The cost of try outs is a one-time fee of $15
Program Details
- The WYSL-Select Program will run Fall, Winter, Spring starting in Fall 2016
- The Fall season training will run from September 19th, 2016 to November 21st, 2016
- The select program will train on Mondays:
- 5:30pm – 7:00pm = 2007 & 2008 Boys & Girls
- 7:00pm – 8:30pm = 2005 & 2006 Boys & Girls
- Sessions to be held at Saxon Woods Park in Mamaroneck (conveniently located right off Exit 23 of the Hutchison River Parkway).
- We anticipate that the Winter season will consist of four (4) indoor training sessions plus two (2) indoor tournaments, with times and dates TBD
- The Spring season will consist of eight (8) training sessions (same times and location)
- At the end of the Spring season the aim is to have the Select team participate in an ‘in house’ tournament at the Red Bulls Training Facility
- The program, in its entirety (Spring, Winter, Fall) will cost $575 + cost of uniform
WYSL-Red Bulls Select Summer Camp
The WYSL-Red Bulls Select Program has also arranged a 15-hour summer camp for WYSL travel team players to showcase and hone their abilities. This camp will be used to help identify and prepare players for the WYSL-Red Bulls Select program. The camp is for players of birth years 2005, 06, 07 and 08 – which are the corresponding age categories of the teams that will be selected for the year round program (Fall, Winter, Spring). Camp runs 5:00pm-8:00pm at Saxon Woods Park the week of August 15th to 19th. We encourage players who are interested in the program to participate in this camp.
