Tyler Adams scored his first Major League Soccer goal on Wednesday night. He added his second later in the game.

Though they weren't his first professional goals, Adams notched his first MLS brace against D.C. United in a 3-3 draw at Red Bull Arena.

On a well-executed transition into D.C. United’s defensive third, Adams scored his first MLS goal of his career in the 19th minute to give New York an early 1-0 lead.

"Amazing, amazing, amazing. Tyler Adams, amazing," Jesse Marsch said after the game. "Gets better every game, growing every game. What a pleasure to watch him. What a pleasure to coach him."

After a failed clear by a United defender, Adams picked up the loose ball inside the 18-yard box and finished to the far post for the equalizer in the 74th minute.

"One was for the lead, one was for the tie, so it was good," Adams said. "A good feeling."

Adams, an 18-year-old Homegrown player, has 19 starts for New York and 20 total appearances for the Red Bulls this season.

Captain Sacha Kljestan said this will do wonders for Adams' confidence moving forward.

"I think he’s obviously very talented," Kljestan said. "So, the more he can continue to grow and push himself is going to be a good addition to help our team.”

Adams has represented the United States at various youth levels including the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup and 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup.

"Big-time player, amazing, amazing," Marsch said. "Took the team on his shoulders."
