RED BULLS SET FOR TWO-GAME WEEK

Following a week off from MLS regular-season action and a 1-0 win over English Premier League side Arsenal, the Red Bulls return to league play this Wednesday with a trip to Rio Tinto Stadium to take on Real Salt Lake before hosting the New England Revolution on Saturday at Red Bull Arena.

Kickoff for Wednesday’s match is set for 9:00 PM ET with ESPN2 broadcasting the game nationally. Wednesday’s match will be the only meeting between the two clubs this season. Saturday’s game (kickoff 7:00 PM) against New England marks the second and final meeting between the clubs in 2014. The Red Bulls earned a 2-0 win when the teams met at Gillette Stadium on June 8. Eric Alexander and Peguy Luyindula each scored in the win.

RECAP: RED BULLS DEFEAT ARSENAL IN 2014 NEW YORK CUP


The New York Red Bulls had the week off from MLS regular-season action last weekend but participated in the 2014 New York Cup against Arsenal FC of the English Premier League at Red Bull Arena. Bradley Wright-Phillips scored the lone goal as the Red Bulls defeated the 2014 FA Cup Champions 1-0 in front of a sold out crowd on Saturday.


CONNOR LADE SENT ON LOAN TO NEW YORK COSMOS

The New York Red Bulls sent defender Connor Lade on loan to the New York Cosmos of the North American Soccer League today. Lade can be recalled from the Cosmos at any point during his loan.


Now in his third year with the Red Bulls, Lade has made 36 career MLS appearances, including 24 starts. Through 20 games this season, the Red Bulls homegrown product has made four appearances for the Red Bulls. All four appearances have been as a substitute. He made his MLS debut on April 14, 2012, at Red Bull Arena, playing 31 minutes as a second-half substitute in a 2-2 tie with San Jose.
The Morristown, NJ native joined the Red Bulls Academy in his senior year of high school in 2007. Lade played for the U-18 team in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy during the 2008-2008 season before helping the U-20 team win the United Soccer Leagues’ Y-League Championship in 2009. Lade also saw time with the U-23 team in the National Premier Soccer League and played four standout seasons at St. John’s University before signing with the Red Bulls first team.
DAMIEN PERRINELLE JOINS RED BULLS

The New York Red Bulls announced the signing of defender Damien Perrinelle. Perrinelle will join the club pending receipt of his P-1 Visa and International Transfer Certificate.


Perrinelle, who most recently played for FC Istres of Ligue 2 in France, has been on trial with the Red Bulls. The defender began his professional career in 2001 with Amiens SC, a member of the Championnat National, the third level of French Football.
Following his stint with Amiens SC, Perrinelle made the jump to Ligue 2 in France in 2004. The defender played for US Creteil in 2004, Clermont Foot in 2005, US Boulogne from 2006-2010 and then a second stint with Clermont Foot from 2010-2013.
CAHILL, BWP JOIN HENRY ON MLS ALL-STAR TEAM

New York Red Bulls midfielder Tim Cahill and Golden Boot leader Bradley Wright-Phillips were added by coach Caleb Porter to the MLS All-Star Team that will face FC Bayern Munich on Wednesday, August 6 at Providence Park at 9:00 PM. Cahill and Wright-Phillips join New York captain Thierry Henry on the squad.

Goals from Sean Sheridan and Mike Innocenzi helped the New York Red Bulls Under-23s earn a 2-0 win over Lansing United in the 2014 National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) semifinals. New York will face Chattanooga FC on Saturday, August 2 in the final. MATCH RECAP

Despite a break from MLS regular-season action last weekend, the Red Bulls lead the league in assists this season. Along with leading the league in team assists, the Red Bulls have the individual assists leader, Thierry Henry (10), as well. Henry is the only player in MLS to eclipse the double-digit mark in assists this season. Eric Alexander and Lloyd Sam are tied for second on the team with six assists each.

WRIGHT-PHILLIPS ADDS ANOTHER GOAL IN NEW YORK CUP

Bradley Wright-Phillips scored the lone goal in New York’s 1-0 win over Arsenal in the 2014 New York Cup at Red Bull Arena on Saturday. The goal marked his sixth consecutive game with a goal across all competitions.


The Englishman has scored in five consecutive MLS regular-season games for the Red Bulls, dating back to June 27 against Toronto FC. Wright-Phillips has scored six goals in that league-stretch with one two-goal performance against the Houston Dynamo on July 4.

Thierry Henry’s four assists in his last three games has him first in assists with 10. Luis Robles (68 saves) is one save behind leader Donovan Ricketts (69 saves) for the league lead.
