RED BULLS SET FOR FOURTH POSTSEASON MEETING WITH REVOLUTION

The New York Red Bulls defeated top-seeded D.C. United in the Eastern Conference Semifinals and advanced to the Conference Championship for the third time in franchise history. New York is set to host the New England Revolution in Leg One of the MLS Eastern Conference Championship on Sunday, November 23. This marks New York's first trip to the Conference Championship since 2008.

New York and New England have met in the postseason three different times with New England winning all three series (2003, 2005 and 2007). At home against New England, in the playoffs, New York has posted a 1-1-1 record with one goal scored and three goals against. At New England, New York has gone 0-2-1 with two goals scored and five goals against.

The Red Bulls and Revolution met twice during the 2014 regular season with New York earning victories in both matches. The Red Bulls earned a 2-0 win at Gillette Stadium on June 8 before a come-from-behind, 2-1 win on August 2 at Red Bull Arena with help from this Dax McCarty chip that won Goal of the Week:

TOP POSTSEASON PERFORMERS

  • Bradley Wright-Phillips
THE WEEKLY: Red Bulls to host first leg of Eastern Conference Championship -

After a historic 2014 regular season, Bradley Wright-Phillips has showed no signs of slowing down through three games in the 2014 MLS Cup Playoffs. The 2014 MLS Golden Boot winner scored twice against Sporting Kansas City in New York's 2-1 knockout round win and scored

again in New York's 2-0 win over D.C. United in the first leg of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. The Englishman scored the game-winner in both games.

Now with 30 combined goals in the regular season and playoffs, Wright-Phillips is three shy of Roy Lassiter's record of 33 combined goals in 1996.

  • Thierry Henry
THE WEEKLY: Red Bulls to host first leg of Eastern Conference Championship -

Thierry Henry set a career high for assists in the regular-season in 2014 and has continued to set up his teammates in the postseason. Through three games, Henry has assisted on four of New York's five total goals and has recorded at least one assist in every playoff game so far.

Henry set up Peguy Luyindula's crucial away goal on Sunday in D.C. that pushed New York through to the Conference Championship.

  • Peguy Luyindula
THE WEEKLY: Red Bulls to host first leg of Eastern Conference Championship -

Supersub Peguy Luyindula came on as a second-half substitute against Sporting Kansas City on October 30 and helped set up both goals in New York's 2-1 come-from-behind win in the knockout round. Luyindula's performance against Sporting KC earned him a start against

D.C. on November 2 and the Frenchman scored New York's second goal in a 2-0 win in leg one of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Luyindula earned the start again for the return leg in D.C. and scored the lone goal for New York in a 2-1 loss that pushed the Red Bulls through to the Eastern Conference Championship 3-2 on aggregate.

  • Luis Robles
THE WEEKLY: Red Bulls to host first leg of Eastern Conference Championship -

Through three playoff matches in the 2014 MLS Cup Playoffs, goalkeeper Luis Robles has allowed just three goals. He earned his first shutout of the postseason on November 2 in New York's 2-0 win over D.C. United in leg one of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
