The New York Red Bulls announced the addition of defender Michael Amir Murillo on Saturday morning.
Here are five things to know about the newest Red Bull:
- Murillo has nine caps and one goal for the Panama National Team. He scored his lone goal on April 27, 2016 in a 2-1 win over Martinique.
- He’s also made appearances for the U-20 Panama National Team in the 2015 CONCACAF U-20 Championship, helping his team reach the final game of the tournament.
- A product of the San Francisco F.C. academy, he made his senior team debut at age 18 and has gone on to appear in 42 games with three goals.
- The 21-year-old recently celebrated a birthday, blowing out his candles on February 11.
- Murillo has CONCACAF Champions League experience, playing in the 2015/16 version of the tournament, logging 270 minutes.
Murillo will join the Red Bulls in training on Saturday.
