HARRISON, N.J. (March 23, 2017) – New York Red Bulls II has signed defender Andrew Tinari to a USL contract, the club announced today, pending league and federation approval.
“Andrew came into our preseason and has shown progress ever since,” Head Coach John Wolyniec said. “He has shown a very good grasp of our tactics and at the same time has shown his individual abilities with those tactics. We are really happy to have him with us and I hope we can help him to continue his development.”
Tinari, a native of Holbrook, N.Y., and a graduate of East Sachem High School, played four years of college soccer with Columbia University. He played a total of 62 games, including fifty-six starts, and tallied nine goals and ten assists in his college career.
As a senior, Tinari earned first-team All Ivy League honors starting in 15 of the 16 games played. As a junior, he led the team in assists with four, as well as being named to first team All Ivy League honors. As a freshman, he was selected as Ivy League Rookie of the Year, named to First Team All Ivy League, and was tied for a team high five-goals.
Tinari was named to first team All-Ivy League three times in his four-year collegiate career.
