HARRISON, N.J. (August 18, 2017) - New York Red Bulls defenders Michael Amir Murillo and Fidel Escobar have been called into Panamanian National Team camp ahead of two World Cup Qualifiers, the Panamanian Federation announced.
The two Red Bulls defenders will join Panama following the New York Derby at Red Bull Arena next Friday, August 25. Murillo and Escobar will miss New York’s September 2 match at FC Dallas.
Panama is set to face Mexico on September 1 and Trinidad and Tobago on September 5.
Both saw time for their national team most recently at the Gold Cup.
Murillo, on loan from San Francisco FC, has appeared in ten games, starting eight thus far for New York, tallying one goal.
Escobar, acquired on loan from San Miguelito on July 27 has yet to appear for the first team but started and played the full 90 for New York Red Bulls II this past weekend in Charleston.
