The U-13’s and U-14’s were down in North Carolina this past weekend competing in the Developmental Academy Eastern Showcase, while the older teams all played away at New England Revolution.
Red Bulls U-19’s defeated New England Revolution U-19’s, 4-1.
The U-19’s extended their unbeaten streak to three games, after defeating New England Revolution U-19’s. They jumped off to great start, when Dantouma Toure found the foot of Diogo Rebelo, who put in his team leading fifth goal of the season. Shortly after, Toure would again put in a beautiful cross, this time finding Andrew Maia, who put in his close-range effort. The U-19’s went into the half up by two goals, then would kickstart the second half with their third goal of the match, which was scored by Bryce Lebel. The Revolution found a goal late in the second half, but it would be cancelled out by a solo effort from Sal Esposito. Lebel was named Man of the Match for his efforts.
Red Bulls U-17’s tied New England Revolution U-17’s, 4-4.
The U-17’s played in the wildest game of the weekend. After 25 minutes, the U-17’s were down by two goals. Right before halftime, Roald Mitchell found the back of the net for his second goal of the season, which was assisted by Kenny Hot. In the second half, Roald Mitchell scored his second of the match in the 75th minute off a cross from Liam Winograd. The goal equalized the match, but the Revolution would find a third only three minutes later. Late in the match, Hot scored two goals, one off a free kick, to give his side the lead, but in stoppage time the Revolution would find an equalizer.
Red Bulls U-15’s defeated New England Revolution U-15’s, 2-1.
The U-15’s won their third match in a row by defeating New England Revolution U-15’s, 2-1. The U-15’s conceded the first goal in the 22nd but showed great focus by coming back to score two goals. The first was scored by Jackson Ten Oever, off a pass from Ezra Widman. Finally, in the 35th minute, Luciano Sanchez scored the game-winner and his sixth of the season. Darsien Gabriel was named Man of the Match.
Red Bulls U-14’s tied Atlanta United U-14’s, 2-2.
The U-14’s went into the first half down, 1-0, against Atlanta United, despite finding a good number of great chances. In the beginning of the second half, Atlanta would find a second goal only two minutes in. The U-14’s would find a second half come back; Andrew Baptiste scored the first goal in the 65th minute off a cross from Patrick Shaw. In the 70th minute, Shaw would take a pass from Bryan Vasquez and level the match. This was the first game that the U-14’s have trailed this season. Maddox Ortiz was named Man of the Match.
Red Bulls U-13’s competed at the 2019 DA Eastern Conference Showcase
The U-13’s traveled down to North Carolina to play in the DA Eastern Conference Showcase and they recorded a 3-1 record. They won their first match against North Carolina FC, 3-0, where they had three different goal scorers including Zidane Yanez, Gabriel Gomez, and Ian Paola. They narrowly won their second match against Atlanta United U-13’s, which they won off a penalty kick from Yanez, for his second goal of the tournament. They would lose their third match of the showcase to NYCFC U-13’s, 2-0. They rounded out their showcase with a 2-0 victory over Seacoast United U-13’s. David Lopes opened the scoring in the 29th minute, and Yanez scored his third goal of the tournament to finish off the match in the 38th minute. The U-13’s have outscored their opponents 15-2 in their last five matches and have posted four shutouts.
This weekend all teams will be playing Players Development Academy away on Saturday, November 2.
