After setting multiple club records during the 2021 USL Championship season, Red Bulls Academy players continued to have an impact during the most recent campaign.

10 players saw time with Red Bulls II, which is tied for second-most in a single season for the club (2016), only behind 2021’s 11.

Academy players appeared in a combined 73 matches, made 36 starts, and logged 3,717 minutes. All those rank second in club history for a single season.

Additionally, three of the five youngest players in club history made their professional debuts this season (Nathan Worth, Davi Alexandre, and Alan Rutkowski). The trio of 15-year-olds were the most in USL Championship and combined for 774 minutes on the season.

Worth is the youngest player in club history to start a match, and Rutkowski is the youngest goalkeeper to ever appear and start a match.

During the 2022 season, Sam Williams became the new all-time leader in games played (37), games started (21), and minutes (2,078) for an Academy player with Red Bulls II.

The pathway continued to show its rewards this season from an MLS perspective as well, as Serge Ngoma made his first team debut and scored two goals, one of which being a game-winner against Atlanta United FC. Ngoma appeared in 22 matches and scored three goals with Red Bulls II from 2020-21.

Daniel Edelman, another Academy and Red Bulls II product, also made his MLS debut this season, started the final 10 matches of the season for the first team, including the playoff match against FC Cincinnati. He was not subbed off in any match during that span and logged the full 900 minutes.
