New York Red Bulls II Forward Tom Barlow has started the season on a good note, scoring three goals in the first three games. He believes that Saturday’s match against Birmingham Legion FC will be a tough one.
“It is going to be a tough match, but we are up for the challenge and it will be exciting,” Barlow said. Birmingham is coming off their first victory in club history against Louisville City FC, which saw the Legion score their first three goals ever.
Birmingham did not start the season off well losing two consecutive home matches.
“Maybe they are still trying to figure out how to play with each other. So, maybe we can take advantage of that, but I know they have a real good team and a lot of good players,” Barlow said.
Barlow feels good about starting the season off great, but he cares more about helping the team secure points.
“I am just happy, we have gotten seven out of nine possible points, so it is a pretty good way to start the season and I am happy to help my team with the couple goals,” Barlow said.
Barlow just recently moved into fifth on NYRB II’s all-time scoring list, with his latest goal against Memphis 901 FC being his 15th of his career.
NYRB II will take on Birmingham Legion FC tomorrow, with kick-off set for 8 p.m. ET. They return home to face Hartford Athletic on April 17 at 7 p.m. ET. For tickets, visit www.newyorkredbulls.com/2/tickets or call 1.877.727.7585.
