New York Red Bulls II midfielder Omar Sowe, a Harrison, New Jersey native, signed his first professional contract on August 19 and scored his first professional goal on September 21 against Louisville City FC.

Q. What has been the best moment of your soccer career so far?
SOWE: “The best moment of my soccer career would be during my senior year; we beat Kearny 4-3 in the Hudson County semifinals. I scored a hat trick and it was the first time Harrison had beat Kearny in five years.
Q. How did it feel signing your first professional contract?
SOWE: “I just felt unbelievable. I was so happy, not only for me, but for my family. They were there were with me every step of the way.”
Q. What is your favorite pre-game music?
SOWE: “My favorite pre-game music would be Bundles FVG.”
Q. How does it feel playing for a club in your hometown?
SOWE: “It is a different feeling, playing for your hometown, not only for the club, but for the people and especially, a town like Harrison. A town that has always got your back.”
Q. How has Red Bulls Academy prepared you to make a move to professional soccer?
SOWE: “The academy was a huge part of my success for the next level. The coaching staff was great and prepared me to be able to play the system.”
Q. What is your favorite thing to do when you are not playing soccer or training?
SOWE: “My favorite thing to do when I’m not playing is watching soccer.”
Q. Was there a player that you grew up admiring when you were younger?
SOWE: “A player that I grew up admiring was my older brother, Modou.”
Q. Who is your favorite club to support?
SOWE: “My favorite club to support is Arsenal.”
Q: What is your favorite sports movie?
SOWE: “My favorite sports movie would have to be Pele.”
