New York Red Bulls II will host New Mexico United on Sunday, July 31, at MSU Soccer Park.
The match will mark the first-ever meeting between the clubs, and the first of four-straight home matches for Red Bulls II. The homestand is the longest for New York since the 2019 season.
New York’s attack will be led by the duo of Jordan Adebayo-Smith and Zach Ryan.
Wiki Carmona, Jesús Castellano, Michael Knapp, and Steven Sserwadda will make up the midfield. Sserwadda will make his first appearance for Red Bulls II since May 27.
The backline for Interim Head Coach Ibrahim Sekagya will consist of Curtis Ofori, Hassan Ndam, Christopher Cragwell, and O’Vonte Mullings. After wearing the captain’s armband for the second half of New York’s match at Monterey Bay F.C., Mullings will wear it for the first time in a professional start.
Giannis Nikopolidis will make his fourth-straight start in net.
Ryan, Sserwadda, Ofori, Ndam, and Mullings all saw the field during the second half of the New York Red Bulls’ friendly against FC Barcelona on July 30. It marked the first team debuts of Ofori and Mullings.
The bench for New York will have Derrek Chan, Daniel De Leon, Davi Alexandre, John Murphy, Bento Estrela, Nathan Worth, and Jonathan Filipe.
Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. ET, with coverage on ESPN+.
