New York Red Bulls II seek their first win of 2020 at home against Hartford Athletic on March 13.
Here are the Three Keys to the Game:
Getting the Attack Going
Last season, Jared Stroud and Chris Lema created 189 chances combined. They averaged 5.55 chances per game between the two. On Saturday against Tampa Bay, they had a combined two chances. The two main attacking stars for NYRB II last year need to see more of the ball to have attacking success. Look for Stroud and Lema to be more involved on Friday night.
Undefeated Against the Opposition
Even though, Hartford Athletic played their first season in existence last year, NYRB II took all the points in both meetings. First, they defeated Hartford, 4-0, at MSU Soccer Park, with Jared Stroud, Tom Barlow, and Chris Lema all scoring goals in the victory. Then, NYRB II won the away match at Dillon Stadium, 5-1. NYRB II will look to get their first win on Friday night and their third straight win against Hartford.
Rookies Shine
Joe Fala, Wallis Lapsley, and Samad Bounthong all made their professional debuts against Tampa Bay last week. Despite the loss, the three defensive players had plenty of success throughout the match. If they continue to shine, NYRB II will have plenty of success in the weeks to come.
