HARRISON, N.J. (April 26, 2025) – New York Red Bulls II (3-1-1,10 pts) travel to Osceola Heritage Park to face Orlando City B (3-2-1, 11 pts.) on April 27. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET with coverage available on MLSNEXTPro.com.
New York currently sits in third place in the Eastern Conference. They are coming off a 3-1 defeat to FC Cincinnati 2 at NKU Soccer Park on April 20. They gave up three goals in the first 57 minutes. Red Bulls II struck back in the 64th minute when midfielder Steven Sserwadda crossed a ball onto the six that was deflected by a defender into the bottom left corner for an own goal.
Orlando City are second in the Eastern Conference with 11 points. They last played on April 15 at IMG Academy against Inter Miami CF II. The side conceded a goal in the 16th minute but answered back in the 23rd minute when defender Tahir Reid-Brown laced a shot from the top of the box into the bottom right corner. Orlando City would concede two more goals in the 44th and 55th minutes. They would answer back with a Shakur Mohammed penalty kick late in stoppage time, but it was too little too late as they would go on to lose 3-2.
The two sides lasted faced each other on July 21, 2024, at MSU Soccer Park. New York opened the scoring in the 58th minute when forward Tanner Rosborough gather a rebound off the post and placed a shot into the back of the net. Orlando City came back late in stoppage time in the 90+4th minute. Forward Justin Ellis dribbled passed two defenders and struck a shot into the bottom left corner. The match would go on to a penalty kick shootout where New York converted on eight of nine attempts to gather two points in a 8-7 shootout victory.
