HARRISON, N.J. (March 16, 2025) – New York Red Bulls II will travel to Subaru Park on Monday, March 17 to face Philadelphia Union II. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET with coverage available on Apple TV - MLS Season Pass.

New York is coming off of a 1-0 opening day road win over Atlanta United 2 at Fifth Third Stadium. Midfielder Andy Rojas scored the lone goal in the match in the 51st minute, when he won a second ball and dribbled 20 yards into the box and curled a left footed shot into the top left corner. Goalkeeper Aidan Stokes had a day, making five saves to earn a clean sheet.

On Matchday 1, Philadelphia earned one point from a road 4-3 penalty kick shootout loss against New England Revolution II. The two sides were held scoreless after the first 90 minutes, but New England would go on to capitalize in the shootout scoring four of their five attempts.

In six all-time MLS NEXT Pro matchups, Union II hold the advantage with a record of 4-1-1 against Red Bulls II. However, New York have gone 1-1-1 on the road against Philadelphia, getting a result in their last two road matchups.

The two sides last faced each other on June 26, 2024, at Subaru Park. New York opened the scoring in the fifth minute as midfielder Malick Dembele won a ball off a Philadelphia midfielder and slipped a pass through to forward Frank Ssebufu who smashed a shot into the top right corner. Red Bulls II would strike again in 28th minute when a Dembele shot deflected off a Union II defender into the back of the net. In the 64th minute, defender Curtis Ofori whipped in a cross onto the six to Dembele who headed home a goal. New York would tally their fourth goal in the 73rd minute when midfielder Rafael Mosquera laced a penalty kick into the top left corner to give Red Bulls II the 4-1 victory. Goalkeeper Aidan Stokes had a strong day making five saves.

Following Monday’s match, New York will host NYCFC II for the first edition of the Hudson River Derby this season on Sunday, March 30 at MSU Soccer Park. Kickoff is set for 5:00p.m. ET with coverage on Apple TV – MLS Season Pass.
