HARRISON, N.J. (June 20, 2019) – New York Red Bulls II will travel to face the Pittsburgh Riverhounds at Highmark Stadium on Saturday, June 22, with kick-off set for 7 p.m. ET. The match can be seen live on ESPN+.
NYRB II are currently on a three-match winning streak, which includes victories over Bethlehem Steel FC, Atlanta United 2, and most recently, Louisville City FC. Forward Mathias Jørgensen scored the lone goal in the match against Louisville, and goalkeeper Evan Louro set a season-high of six saves and his second clean sheet of the season.
NYRB II last saw Pittsburgh Riverhounds when they came to visit MSU Soccer Park on October 14, 2018. Current New York Red Bulls forward Tom Barlow scored the opener in the match in the 30th minute. Midfielder Jared Stroud would score the game-winning goal in stoppage time to lead NYRB II to the 2-1 victory over Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh Riverhounds are coming off their biggest win of the season posting a 5-0 victory over Atlanta United 2 on the road. Steevan Dos Santos was named USL Championship Player of the Week for his efforts against Atlanta United 2, which included him scoring a goal and recording an assist. Midfielder Kevin Kerr and forward Neco Brett currently lead the team in goals with four each.
NYRB II currently hold the series advantage with a 6-2-1 record, which includes regular season and playoffs.
Following Saturday’s match, NYRBII will travel to Nashville SC on June 26 and Charleston on June 29. They will return home on Friday, July 5 to host Ottawa Fury SC.
