HARRISON, N.J. (September 30, 2022) – New York Red Bulls II (3-22-6, 15 points) will travel to face Phoenix Rising FC (10-15-6, 36 points) on Saturday, October 1. Kickoff at Wild Horse Pass is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET with coverage on ESPN+.

New York and Phoenix will meet for the first time in their history on Saturday night. Phoenix also marks the ninth and final first-time opponent for Red Bulls II this season and fifth on the road. New York will play three-consecutive road matches to end a regular season for the third time in club history (2017, 2019).

Red Bulls II is coming off a scoreless draw against Detroit City FC on Wednesday, September 21, in the club’s home finale for the season. Giannis Nikopolidis recorded his second clean sheet of the season, and Henry Wise made his club debut and logged 70 minutes. The match marked the 125th and final USL Championship home match for New York, finishing with a record of 58-44-23 in those matches.

Phoenix defeated Sacramento Republic FC, 1-0, on Wednesday, September 28 at Heart Health Park. Arturo Rodriguez scored the lone goal of the match in the 35th minute, and Benjamin Lundt tallied six saves to increase his league-leading total to 107. Seven of the club’s ten victories this season have come at home, where they have earned a result in five of their last six matches.

Red Bulls II defender O’Vonte Mullings ranks third in club history for assists by a defender with five and is two away from moving into second all-time. He is also six minutes away from passing Evan Louro for fourth in club history for minutes in a single season. Mullings, who currently has 2,515 minutes on the campaign, has started all 29 matches that he has appeared in. He has started every match for New York since May 14 (22 matches) and logged 1,924 of a possible 1,980 minutes (97 percent).

New York sits 14th in the Eastern Conference, while Phoenix ranks 12th in the Western Conference.

Following the match, New York will travel to face Memphis 901 FC on Sunday, October 9. Kickoff at AutoZone Park is slated for 4:00 p.m. ET with coverage available on ESPN+.
