HARRISON, N.J. (September 18, 2021) – New York Red Bulls II (4-15-4, 16 points) will host Memphis 901 FC (6-8-7, 25 points) on Sunday, September 19 at MSU Soccer Park. Kickoff between New York and Memphis is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET. Coverage is available on ESPN+.
The match marks the second-straight at home for New York as it fell 2-1 to San Antonio FC on Wednesday, September 15. Midfielder Kyle Zajec scored his first goal of the season off a feed from midfielder Jeremy Rafanello. The assist for Rafanello put him into a tie for sixth in the USL Championship.
Sunday’s match will be the first-ever meeting between New York and Memphis. So far in 2021, New York has faced two clubs for the first time as it fell 3-1 to Sacramento Republic FC on July 31 and 2-1 to San Antonio earlier this week.
Memphis forward Kyle Murphy is tied for eighth in the USL Championship for goals with 11 while accounting for over 50 percent of the team total on the season (21).
New York currently sits in seventh place of the Atlantic Division, while Memphis ranks seventh in the Central Division. They fell 2-0 to The Miami FC in their last match on Saturday, September 11.
Following Sunday’s match, New York will travel to face the Charleston Battery on Wednesday, September 22. Kickoff from Patriots Point is set for 7:00 p.m. ET, with coverage available on ESPN+.
