HARRISON, N.J. (September 19, 2019) – New York Red Bulls II will travel to take on defending champions, Louisville City FC, on September 21, with kick-off set for 7 p.m. ET. The match can be seen live on ESPN+.
NYRB II are looking to maintain first place in the Eastern Conference and bounce back after they suffered their seventh loss of the season in Saint Louis on September 18. Defender Roy Boateng made his return from injury and made his first professional appearance.
The last time these two clubs met was on June 16, when NYRB II defeated Louisville City FC, 1-0, with an 83rd minute game-winner from Mathias Jørgensen. NYRB II lead the all-time series with a 5-4-3 record in all competitions, including a win in the 2016 USL Cup Final.
Louisville City FC are currently on a seven-match unbeaten streak, which most recently saw the club defeat Hartford Athletic, 1-0, at Dillon Stadium. They are currently seventh place in the Eastern Conference and are looking to clinch a playoff spot. Magnus Rasmussen leads the team with 10 goals on the year.
Following Saturday’s match, NYRB II will return home to host Charleston Battery on September 27, with kick-off set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
