HARRISON, N.J. (August 12, 2019)- New York Red Bulls II will return home to host the Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC, with kick-off set for 7 p.m. ET. The match can be seen live on ESPN +.
NYRB II are currently on an eight-match unbeaten streak, which most recently saw them defeat Hartford Athletic, 5-1, at Dillon Stadium. NYRB II opened the scoring in the 64th minute with a goal from Sebastian Elney, his third in two matches. Sean Nealis found the game-winner off a cross from midfielder Chris Lema. Vincent Bezecourt, Jared Stroud, and Janos Loebe finished off the scoring in the match.
The first time these two clubs met this season, the Pittsburgh Riverhounds defeated NYRB II, 3-0, at Highmark Stadium. NYRB II have not lost a match with a 5-0-3 record since their loss to Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC defeated Swope Park Rangers, 3-2, at home on August 10. They are currently on a five-match unbeaten streak and sit in sixth in the Eastern Conference. Neco Brett leads the team in goals scored with seven.
Following Wednesday night’s match, NYRB II will set out on a road-trip, when they face Nashville SC on August 21 and Swope Park Rangers on August 24.
