HARRISON, N.J. (September 14, 2021) – New York Red Bulls II (4-14-4, 16 points) will host San Antonio FC (9-6-7, 34 points) on Wednesday, September 15 at MSU Soccer Park. Kickoff between New York and San Antonio is set for 7:00 p.m. ET. Coverage is available on ESPN+.
New York will look to bounce back after falling to the Tampa Bay Rowdies 6-0 on Saturday, September 11. Their last home match came on Saturday, September 4, when they defeated Hartford Athletic 2-0 for the club’s first clean sheet of 2021.
The match will mark the first-ever meeting between New York and San Antonio and just the second match this season in which New York will face an opponent outside of the Atlantic Division. It fell 3-1 to Sacramento Republic FC on Saturday, July 31. They have two remaining matches against non-division opponents, as they will host Memphis 901 FC on Sunday, September 19, and travel to face Real Monarchs SLC a few weeks later.
New York currently sits in seventh place of the Atlantic Division, while San Antonio ranks third in the Mountain Division. They are coming off a 1-0 victory over Real Monarchs SLC on Saturday, September 11.
Following Wednesday’s match, New York will remain home to face another opponent for the first time, Memphis 901 FC, on Sunday, September 19. Kickoff from MSU Soccer Park is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET, with coverage available on ESPN+.
