HARRISON, N.J. (March 21, 2019) – New York Red Bulls II will host their second straight home match, when they welcome Nashville Soccer Club to MSU Soccer Park on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET and can be seen live on ESPN+.
NYRB II look to make it two wins a row, after defeating Swope Park Rangers, 3-1, on Saturday March 9. Forward Tom Barlow helped lead NYRB II to the victory after posting a brace in the first game of the year. Midfielder Marcus Epps added a goal and an assist. Their performances earned them a spot on the Week 1 USL Championship Team of the Week.
The last time these two clubs met was on September 29, 2018. The clubs battled to a 1-1 draw at First Tennessee Park. NYRB II struck first in the 5th minute, with Jared Stroud assisting former forward Amando Moreno. After a red card, NYRB II played down a man for over 60 minutes and were able to go home with a point. This will be the third all-time meeting between the two clubs, with each club taking a point in the first two match-ups.
Nashville SC started their season on a high note by defeating Loundon United FC in their home opener but are coming off a tough defeat to Saint Louis FC this past weekend. This is their second season in the league and finished eighth in the Eastern Conference last season with an overall record of 12-9-13 (49 pts.). They got knocked out in the first round of the playoffs by F.C. Cincinnati.
NYRB II will be back home when they face Memphis 901 FC on Friday, March 29 for $1 Hot Dog Night, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. ET
