HARRISON, N.J. (September 25, 2019) – New York Red Bulls II will welcome the Charleston Battery to MSU Soccer Park on Friday, September 27, for their home finale. The match can be seen live on ESPN+ and kick-off is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
NYRB II are looking to get back on track after suffering two defeats last week to Saint Louis FC and Louisville City FC. The club still sits in first place of the Eastern Conference with only four matches left in the regular season before the USL Championship Playoffs.
The last time these two clubs met was on June 29, where both teams walked away with a point a piece. Despite being up a man, NYRB II went down right after halftime, when Nicque Daley opened the scoring for the Battery. In the 80th minute, Mathias Jørgensen would equalize the match and send his club back home with a result on the road.
Charleston Battery are currently one point below the playoff line and are fighting for a spot in the playoffs. They are coming off a 2-1 victory over North Carolina FC, which ended with a Nicholas Rittmeyer stoppage time winner.
Following Friday’s match, NYRB II will finish the season on a three-match road trip, which starts with a trip to face North Carolina FC on October 5, with kick-off set for 7 p.m. ET.
