MATCH RECAP: New York Red Bulls II Earn Three Points in a Dominate 3-1 Win Against New England Revolution II at MSU Soccer Park on Sunday, September 29

New York Red Bulls II (10-12-5, 39 pts.) earned three points in a dominate 3-1 win against New England Revolution II (4-17-6, 22 pts.) on Sunday night at MSU Soccer Park.

New York Red Bulls II opened the scoring in the 38th minute of the match, when forward Mohammed Sofo slotted in a shot in the bottom right corner of the net

New England came back in the 44th minute, as forward Liam Butts got on the end of a deflected ball to put it into the back of the net.

New York added to their lead in the 49th minute after midfielder Ibrahim Kasule was taken out in the box and slotted his penalty kick into the bottom left corner of the net.

Red Bulls II didn’t stop the scoring there. As in the 56th minute midfielder Rafael Mosquera whipped in a cross that was deflected by the goalkeeper towards forward Tanner Rosborough who picked up the ball and smashed it into the back of the net.

Sofo netted his sixth goal of the season, and has scored in back-to-back matches

Rosborough scored his seventh goal of the season and has scored in back-to-back matches.

Kasule tallied his seventh goal of the season. The Ugandan midfielder is now ranked tied with Jared Stroud for second-most goals in club history with 22.

Goalkeeper Aidan Stokes had seven saves on the day and is now seventh all-time in club history in single season total saves with 63. With his 18th start of the season, Stokes is tied with Evan Louro for sixth-most single season goalkeeper starts in club history.
