EL PASO, TX (June 25, 2022) - New York Red Bulls II (1-12-3, 6 points) fell to El Paso Locomotive FC (8-6-4, 28 points) 5-0 on Saturday, June 25, at Southwest University Park.
El Paso opened the scoring in the fourth minute. Following a corner kick and shot, the loose ball found Andrew Fox, who immediately played it to Christiano François, who sent in a shot. The home side doubled their lead in the 12th minute, as Aaron Gómez led a counterattack and had his centering pass finished by Eric Calvillo.
The Locomotive added another in the 19th minute on a strike from Nicholas Hinds following a feed from Sebastián Velásquez. El Paso added one more before the half as Calvillo scored his second of the match on a centering pass from Gómez.
Gómez scored in the 74th minute following a pass from Luis Solignac from the near edge of the box.
Red Bulls Academy midfielder Nathan Worth made his professional debut in the match, playing the first half. He is the youngest player to appear in a match this season in USL Championship at 15 years and 120 days old. Worth became the second-youngest player in Red Bulls II history to make their professional debut, trailing only Serge Ngoma (15 years, 77 days old).
Following the match, New York will return home to face Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC on Friday, July 1. Kickoff from MSU Soccer Park is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET with coverage on ESPN+.
