LEESBURG, VA (June 8, 2022) – New York Red Bulls II (1-11-2, 5 points) fell to Loudoun United FC (3-8-2, 11 points) 1-0 on Wednesday, June 8, at Segra Field.

Loudoun scored the only goal in the match in the 38th minute as Grant Lillard played a ball forward to Abdellatif Aboukoura, who chipped a shot from distance and found the back of the net.

Giannis Nikopolidis tallied four saves in the contest, which tied his career-high from May 8 against Sacramento Republic FC. Wiki Carmona made his first start of the season for Red Bulls II, playing the first half.

Following the match, New York will return home to host FC Tulsa on Wednesday, June 15. Kickoff at MSU Soccer Park is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET with coverage on ESPN+.
