MIAMI, FL (August 29, 2021) – New York Red Bulls II (3-12-4, 13 points) fell to The Miami FC (11-6-4, 37 points), 3-0, on Sunday, August 29 at Riccardo Silva Stadium.
Miami opened the scoring in the 15th minute, as forward Billy Forbes moved past a New York defender one-on-one and found the back of the net on a shot towards the far post.
The home side doubled their advantage in the 71st minute, as midfielder Lamar Walker scored after consecutive passes from midfielder Christiano François and forward Bah Othello set him up right in front of the net. Walker scored again in the final moments of the match to record the brace.
Goalkeeper Luca Lewis recorded four saves in the contest. Midfielder Michael Knapp made his return from injury, coming on as a substitute in the 73rd minute to appear in his first match since July 7.
New York will remain on the road to face Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC on Wednesday, September 1. Kickoff from Highmark Stadium is set for 6:00 p.m. ET.
