HARRISON, N.J. (March 16, 2025) – New York Red Bulls II have acquired Argentinian midfielder Nehuen Benedetti on a one-year loan from Club Estudiantes de la Plata through the 2025 season with an option to purchase pending visa and registration approval, the club announced today.
“We are excited to welcome Nehuen (Benedetti) to the team,” says Head Coach Ibrahim Sekagya. “He is a strong box to box midfielder, and we look forward to adding him to the group.”
Benedetti is an academy product of Club Estudiantes de la Plata. In three seasons with the club’s second team Club Estudiante de la Plata II, the midfielder made 28 appearances recording three goals and two assists. He made his debut on February 11, 2022, in a Copa LPF Proyeccion matchup against CA Independiente II. The 20-year-old’s first career goal was a stoppage time equalizer against CA Lanus II on April 10, 2024. One of Benedetti’s notable performances was on February 19, when he tallied two assists in a 3-2 win over CA Union II.
The midfielder also made five appearances with the Club Estudiante de La Plata’s first team. Making his debut in a Copa de La Liga Profesional De Futbol match against Central Cordoba on November 11, 2023.
The Bosques, Argentina native made his first career Argentina U-20 appearance in an international friendly against Mauretanien U-20 on July 25, 2024.
