HARRISON, N.J. (January 28, 2025) - New York Red Bulls II have signed Brazilian defender Caio Ramalho Leite to a one-year loan from Sfera Sociedade Anonima de Futebol pending visa and registration approval, the club announced today.
“Caio is a young, talented defender that has experience at a variety of levels” said Head Coach Ibrahim Sekagya “We are looking forward to adding Caio to the roster, and are excited to get him started with the club this season”
The 18-year-old defender most recently played with Brazilian side Sfera Sociedade Anonima de Futebol U-20’s in the 2024 Copa Sao Paulo de Futebol Junior, where he made five appearances, logging a total of 423 minutes played. He made his debut with the club on January 4, 2024, in a 1-0 win over Botafogo SP U-20.
Prior to Sfera Sociedade Anonima de Futebol, he featured for Serie A side Torino’s U-18’s in the 2024 Viareggio Cup, where the team advanced to the quarterfinals of the competition. Leite logged two starts for a total of 170 minutes played, including a start in their 3-0 win over Lucchese Primavera U-19’s in the quarterfinals.
