HARRISON, N.J. (January 24, 2025) – New York Red Bulls II have added midfielder Malick Dembele on a one-year loan from Yeelen Olympique through the 2025 season pending visa and registration approval, the club announced today.
“Malick [Dembele] is an athletic midfielder that has a tremendous work ethic” said Head Coach Ibrahim Sekagya “we are excited to have him back and continue his development within the team.”
Dembele made 25 appearances for New York Red Bulls II last season tallying two goals and four assists. He scored his first career MLS NEXT Pro goal in a 4-1 win against Philadelphia Union II on June 26, 2024, as well as make his MLS NEXT Pro debut against Inter Miami CF II on March 24, 2024.
Prior to New York, the midfielder played three seasons with Malian Premiere Division side Yeelen Olimpique. In 32 appearances, he scored nine goals and distributed nine assists. He made his professional debut at 17 years old in 2021.
The Malian midfielder joined Yeelen Olimpique’s academy system in 2015 at 11 years old and was introduced to the first team in 2021.
