HARRISON, NJ (August 29, 2024) – New York Red Bulls goalkeeper Aidan Stokes has been selected for the United States U-17 National Team for the Vaclav Jezek Cup in Mikulov, Czech Republic.
Stokes is in his second season with New York Red Bulls II where he has made 15 starts and has recorded a 59% save percentage. The goalkeeper made his MLS NEXT Pro debut against Philadelphia Union II on April 21. Stokes season is highlighted by an eight-save match against New England Revolution II on June 14. The goalkeeper’s eight saves tie for fourth most in a match in club history.
Stokes earns his third United States Youth National Team call up over the past year. He previously was invited to United States U-15 Camp in March 2023 as well as an invite to the United States U-15 camp in Kansas City in October 2023. The goalkeeper made his United States U-15 Youth National Team debut on April 28, 2023 in a matchup against Spain.
United States will play group play of the Vaclav Jezek Cup against Germany on Wednesday September 4. Then the team will round out group play against Czech Republic on Friday September 6 and Slovakia on Sunday September 8.
