HARRISON, N.J. (September 30, 2021) – New York Red Bulls II have signed midfielder Steven Sserwadda to a USL Championship contract, the club announced today. The signing was completed prior to the Championship’s roster freeze last Friday.

Sserwadda, 19, most recently played for Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club in the Ugandan Premier League.

“We feel Steven is going to fit in really well,” NYRB II Head Coach John Wolyniec said. “He’s an industrious, very active and engaged player. We think he’s a good fit for what we’re trying to do, and we hope that we can get him going here as soon as possible.”

The Kampala, Uganda native has featured for Ugandan National Football Teams at both the U20 and U23 level.

“I’m excited to be here,” Sserwadda said. “It’s a great facility, great team, and it’s a good thing that we are all in the same age category. I can’t wait to start playing with this team.”
