New York Red Bulls II concluded its four match September schedule on Wednesday, September 21, against Detroit City FC.
Look back at some of the notes and numbers from September as the calendar shifts to the final month of the season:
Home Finale – Red Bulls II played its final home match of the season on September 21, a scoreless draw against Detroit City FC. The match marked the 125th and final USL Championship home match for New York, with the club holding an all-time record of 58-44-23 in those matches (regular season and playoffs). New York’s first-ever USL home match was also a scoreless draw, coming against the Rochester Rhinos on March 28, 2015 at Red Bull Arena.
Double-Digits for Adebayo-Smith – On September 9, Jordan Adebayo-Smith scored his 10th career USL Championship goal during New York’s match against Miami FC. The striker increased his 2022 season total to a team-leading six. He is also the first Red Bulls II player this season to reach 30 matches played and eighth in club history.
Club Debuts – Yostin Salinas and Henry Wise each made their club debuts during September, after the club announced in August that they were joining the club. Salinas has started all three matches he has played in and logged 257 of a possible 270 minutes. Wise started in his debut as well and played 70 minutes on September 21 against Detroit City FC.
Ndam Signs with First Team – After making his return to New York in July on a USL Championship contract with Red Bulls II, Hassan Ndam signed an MLS contract with the New York Red Bulls on September 3. The defender has started all six matches he has appeared in with Red Bulls II, logging 525 minutes.
