New York Red Bulls II are set to host Bethlehem Steel on Friday, May 31, with kick-off set for 7 p.m. ET. Here are three things to watch out for:
LOSING STREAK?
NYRB II suffered their second straight loss to North Carolina FC this past Friday night. This was the first-time in nearly two years that NYRB II have lost two matches in a row. NYRB II will be hungry to get back to their winning ways and start climbing back up the standings, especially with a local rival coming to town.
THE MAN IN THE MIDFIELD
Despite the recent results, NYRB II midfielder Jared Stroud has been on a tear as of late. He recorded his fifth goal of the season in the loss against North Carolina. He has recorded three assists on the year and is ranked sixth in the USL Championship in chances created with 29. The second-year midfielder has started off the year great and will look to continue that success against Bethlehem.
SOMETHING TO PROVE
NYRB II midfielder Marcus Epps will be facing his old club for the first time since being released at the end of the 2018 season. Epps made 57 appearances and recorded six goals for the Philadelphia Union and Bethlehem Steel from 2017 to 2018. Watch out for his performance against his old club.
Following Friday’s match, New York Red Bulls II will return home to face Louisville City FC on Sunday, June 16, with kick-off set for 3 p.m. ET. For tickets, visit www.newyorkredbulls.com/2/tickets or call 1.877.727.7585.
