After helping New York notch their first road win against Sporting Kansas City since 2014 with his goal and a clean sheet, Aaron Long was named to the MLS Team of the Week.
This was the third time this season that Long has been featured as one of the top MLS players of the week.
The goal against Kansas City was his third MLS goal of the season, and his fourth across all competitions. Long moved into a tied for second among MLS defenders for goals.
Sunday was Long’s 160th appearance across all competitions for New York. In his Red Bulls career, Long has 13 goals.
Long is one of eight different New York players to have been featured on the MLS Team of the Week this season.
Now at the top of the Eastern Conference table, Long and the Red Bulls will travel to take on FC Cincinnati on July 9 at TQL Stadium.
