Academy Match Recap: TSF Academy

Academy vs. PHI

New York Red Bulls Academy teams went 3-2 on the weekend registering 12 goals and allowing seven.  


Red Bulls U-17’s won their first match of the year against TSF Academy, 5-1. With the score deadlocked at 0-0, the U-17’s scored five goals from the 65th minute to 85th minute. Nicholas Rabiu recorded the first hat trick of 2021. Nico Beninda and Paul Smajlaj each added a goal apiece. Midfielders Ezra Widman and Jackson Ten Oever tallied two assists each in the match. Rabiu earned Man of the Match honors.


Red Bulls U-15’s defeated TSF Academy, 1-0, to extend their winning streak to twelve matches dating back to last year. After a scoreless first half, Lenny Aviles recorded his first goal of 2021 off of a pass from Evan Marquez. The U-15’s recorded five clean sheets in the fall season and secured their first of the new year. Defender Jed Akwaboah and Marquez were both named Co-Man of the Match for their efforts.  


Red Bulls U-14’s suffered their first loss of the season against TSF Academy U-15’s. TSF scored their first two goals of the match until Jack Mize brought the U-14’s within one halfway through the second half. TSF got on the board for third time, and then Pipeloore Olanrewaju scored off a cross from Mize to keep the U-14’s in the match. Mize earned Man of the Match honors for their first match of the year.  


Red Bulls U-12’s Grey were defeated by TSF U-13’s, 3-1. Paul Solkoloff recorded the only goal in the match in the first half off of a through ball from Hudson Sherwood. Red Bulls U-12’s Red defeated TSF Academy, 3-1. Sherwood, Jonathan Condor, Dominick Lester each recorded a goal, while Finn Marah, Liam Sherwood, and Michael Leandrou each tallied an assist. Darius Millington earned Man of the Match.
