As we reflect upon our first USL season, NewYorkRedBulls.com reviews the top five moments of Red Bulls II’s inaugural campaign.
On Sept. 26, 2015, New York Red Bulls II hosted its first postseason match at Red Bull Arena against Pittsburgh Riverhounds in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. Pittsburgh went ahead early in the match, but Red Bulls II answered in the second half to send the game into overtime tied, 1-1.
In the first overtime session, the Riverhounds pulled ahead with a goal in the 96th minute, but captain Karl Ouimette leveled the match in the 102nd minute to keep New York’s playoff hopes alive. In the second overtime, Ouimette snatched another goal in the 115th minute, and Daniel Bedoya put away the game with NYRB II’s fourth goal to earn Red Bulls II the victory in its first playoff game, 4-2.
