U17WC

New York Red Bulls Academy player Chris Gloster started and played the full 90 minutes of the United States U-17 Men's National Team in their 3-0 win to open FIFA U-17 World Cup play.

Gloster and the Americans beat host country India, 3-0 on the back of a penalty kick goal from captain Josh Sargent, a Chris Durkin goal off a U.S. corner kick and Andrew Carleton 84th minute goal to seal the victory.

The Americans jump to the top of their group, as Ghana also won, but the Americans lead on goal differential. Colombia and India are both without points through one match.

The U-17 team is back in action on Monday when they take on Ghana at 7:30 p.m.
