Dru Yearwood made a triumphant return to the starting lineup for New York, bagging a goal and an assist in a 4-3 victory over Austin FC on Sunday night. That effort in a big road win for the Red Bulls earned Yearwood a spot in the starting XI in the MLS Team of the Week.
The goal was Yearwood's first of the season and the second of his Red Bulls career.
His assist of Cameron Harper's goal, New York's third of the night, was his fourth of his career in New York.
Yearwood is one of eight different New York players to have been featured on the MLS Team of the Week so far this season.
Gerhard Struber, who had to manage a rotated lineup with a U.S. Open Cup semifinal match on Wednesday, earned the MLS Manager of the Week honor.
Despite leading a team that has been near the top of the Eastern Conference all season, this is Struber's first Manager of the Week honor of the 2022 season.
New York has posted a 9-3-2 record on the road this season across all competitions and is currently unbeaten on the road in its last three matches.
