Kyle Zajec
Zajec, a native of Westport, Conn., began his Red Bulls youth career at age 13 where he went on to become a five-year starter with the Red Bulls Academy.
“Playing for this club has been a big commitment,” said Zajec. “The opportunities I have been able to receive have been great. Also, you meet a lot of people over the years; coaches, players, and you begin to feel a part of a large soccer community.
“The teams I have been on while at the club have always been very good, so practicing with these players every day has been very important in the development of my soccer ability.”
After an impressive academy career, Zajec committed to join Georgetown University where he joined five other Red Bulls Academy products. He finished his freshman season making four appearances with one start.
On March 28, 2015, Zajec made his professional debut for the Red Bulls II against the Rochester Rhinos. He started and played a full 90 minutes in the match that ended 0-0. Zajec made two other appearances for the USL side during the 2015 season.
“Playing with Red Bulls II was a great experience, especially for a young kid who has been with the club for such a long time,” Zajec said. “Getting a taste of what the next level is like was big for me.”
