HARRISON, N.J. (December 15, 2018) – Heading into the winter break of the Generation Adidas Cup, the Red Bulls Under-15 and U-17 academy teams are in good position to advance to the GA Cup Finals in the Championship Division.
Both teams won points against the Philadelphia Union last week in the final matches until group play resumes in February. The U-17s captured a 2-0 victory and the 15s won in penalties after a 0-0 draw at the Red Bulls Training Facility.
The 17s are 3-0-0 in group play in the East, sitting in first place ahead of NYCFC, New England Revolution, Philadelphia Union, DC United, Atlanta United FC and Orlando City SC academies. The Red Bulls are three points clear of third-place New England heading into the final weekend of group play. For the U-17 group, the top two teams from each division (East, Central, West) advance along with the top-two overall runners up.
The 15s sit in second place, two points behind the Union and ahead of DC, NYCFC, New England, Atlanta and Orlando. For the 15s, the top two from each division (East, Central, West) advance along with the top overall runner up.
Each team will have three more matches when the GA Cup resumes in February.
