New York Red Bulls II will travel to face Memphis 901 FC on Sunday, October 9, at AutoZone Park.
The two clubs will clash for the fifth time in their history and the second time this season. Memphis holds the slight 2-1-1 edge in the all-time series and took the meeting earlier in the season 2-1 on August 3 at MSU Soccer Park. Three of the four matches have been decided by one goal or less, with the only prior match in Memphis being a 2-2 draw in July of 2019.
New York’s attacking options will consist of Stiven Plaza, Jordan Adebayo-Smith, Jonathan Filipe, and Curtis Ofori. Plaza returns to the starting lineup after missing the last match due to an injury, and Ofori is set to make his first start since August 28.
Nathan Worth and Henry Wise headline the defensive midfield. The match marks Worth’s third start over Red Bulls II’s last four matches.
Along the backline, New York will have Omar Valencia, Matthew Nocita, Yostin Salinas, and O’Vonte Mullings.
15-year-old Alan Rutkowski will get the start in net after making his professional debut in New York’s last match at Phoenix Rising FC.
The bench for Red Bulls II will have Arian Recinos, Daniel De Leon, Davi Alexandre, Erick Ruiz, Bento Estrela, and John Murphy. Giannis Nikopolidis will serve as the backup goalkeeper.
Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m. ET, with coverage on ESPN+.
