Kaku Scores, Shakes Off Frustration as Red Bulls Hit Final Stretch

Kaku got back on the scoresheet on Sunday night, scoring the game-winner as the New York Red Bulls secured the Atlantic Cup for another year with a 1-0 win over D.C. United.

Kaku scored his fourth goal of the season, all of which are game-winners.

"It felt good," Kaku said through a translator. "We put forth a great effort, and it makes us happy to get us the three points at home. Very happy."

Kaku hadn't scored since early May before Sunday night.

"I havenā€™t scored in a while," Kaku said. "Fortunately I was able to do it today in a Derby against D.C. United."

But Kaku was positive about the goal and the outlook, as he continues to maintain his reign atop the MLS assist chart.

"Sometimes, it doesnā€™t work out," Kaku said. "I try to assist Brad and Danny [Royer], but to be honest, Iā€™m happy it worked out today and Iā€™m hoping to do it again."

Kaku will get another opportunity to both shoot and dish on Wednesday as the Houston Dynamo roll into Red Bull Arena for a mid-week matchup.
