The New York Red Bulls (2-4-2, 8 pts) continue their three-match homestand against LA Galaxy (7-1-1, 22 pts) on Saturday at Red Bull Arena. Opening kick is slated for 2 p.m. ET with coverage on ESPN, ESPN+ and New York Red Bulls Radio onTuneIn.
Here are the Keys to the Game, presented by Honda:
Tame The Lion
Stopping Zlatan is priority No. 1 for the New York Red Bulls on Saturday afternoon.
The big Swede has eight goals in seven matches this season, following 22 goals in 24 games in 2018.
The back line and Luis Robles will need to be up to the task of keeping him off the scoresheet.
Future Formation
The Red Bulls rolled out a completely new formation in their win against FC Cincinnati, that saw three centerbacks, one holding midfielder and allowed wingbacks to get even further up the field than usual.
This new lineup helped New York to their second win and first clean sheet of the year. Could it return for Saturday against LA?
Youth Infusion
Omir Fernandez returned to the Starting XI in the last match, and was effective for the 69 minutes he was on the pitch. Brian White started in place of an injured Bradley Wright-Phillips and held his own up top for 86 minutes.
The effectiveness of these young guns could be the difference-maker for the Red Bulls against the Galaxy come Saturday afternoon.
