Back for More
The Revolution are set to make their return to Red Bull Arena just two weeks after falling to the Red Bulls, 2-1, in Harrison. New England will be coming into Saturday with a vengeance, looking to re-enter the win column against New York.
The Red Bulls have not lost to New England since July 31, 2021, when the Revolution recorded a 3-2 win over New York at Red Bull Arena. Since then, the Red Bulls have claimed three-straight wins over the opposition.
After dropping its last two games to FC Cincinnati and Real Salt Lake, New York will look to snap its losing streak with a win against New England.
Putting out the fire
Holding second in the Eastern Conference standings, New England has been a force to reckon with this season. The Revolution is unbeaten in nine of its last 10 matches, only losing to the Red Bulls on its last trip to Harrison.
Since playing New York, New England has been on a run, putting up big wins at home including a 2-1 victory over Atlanta and a dominant 4-0 shutout against D.C.
Still, the Red Bulls’ defense has been consistently strong this season, allowing just 26 goals across 23 matches, and they hold a record of 5-3-4 at home in Red Bull Arena.
Back on the road and ready to face the Red Bulls again, will New England be able to continue its hot streak? Or will New York be able to put the Revolution away again to get three points at home?
New tournament, New Opportunities
Saturday marks the start of the first ever Leagues Cup, a World Cup-style tournament where MLS and LIGA MX clubs are competing to qualify for the 2024 Concacaf Champions League.
For the Group Stage, the 47-team field has been broken up into 15 groups of three, with one team from each league earning a bye and heading straight to the Round of 32.
New York and New England are joined by Club Atlético de San Luis to round out the East 4 group with the two top teams advancing to the single-elimination Knockout Stage.
With New York kicking off its first ever Leagues Cup experience on its home field, the club has a chance to make some noise in the group. The Red Bulls recently beat the Revolution, who will come to town on Saturday, and have a chance to start the tournament on a high note.
A new tournament means new opportunities, and the Red Bulls will look to take advantage of that starting Saturday against New England.
