Contain Carles

2021 MLS MVP winner Carles Gil is putting together another stellar season, and is helping New England stay in playoff contention.

He leads the league in key passes and is second in MLS with 13 assists so far this season. In total, he’s played a part in 19 goals, which is almost half of the Revolution’s goal total this season.

Carles Gil is the engine that helps the New England offense go, and he’ll be a main focus of the New York defense.

Keep it Clean

New York has failed to keep a clean sheet at home since June 23, when they beat NYCFC 3-0 in the U.S. Open Cup quarterfinals.

Since then, there have been seven home matches since the Red Bulls shut out their opponent.

A clean sheet win would go a long way towards establishing New York’s playoff position and increasing the possibility of a home playoff game.

Need Assistance?

Midfielder Cristian Cásseres Jr. has contributed five assists in his last four appearances.

In those four appearances, New York is 3-0-1.

After having to sit out during the match against Philadelphia due to yellow card accumulation, a return from Cásseres will go a long way towards sparking the Red Bulls offense.
