After a brace against D.C. United on May 29 that helped the New York Red Bulls secure their first home league win of the season, Luquinhas was featured on the week 14 edition of the MLS Team of the Week.
Saturday's two-goal effort from Luquinhas was only his second multi-goal game of his career. He also doubled his 2022 goal total with his performance against D.C.
In his nine starts across all competitions since joining New York, he has a goal or an assist in seven of them.
This is the second time in the month of May that Luquinhas has been featured in the MLS Team of the Week. He is one of six Red Bulls players to be featured so far in the 2022 season.
After a goal of the week contender, Lewis Morgan was also featured on the TOTW bench.
This is also the second time that Morgan has been featured, with the first coming after his hat trick against Toronto FC.
Morgan is the leading goal scorer for New York with six on the season so far, and also leads the team with 36 total scoring attempts.
